• King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST) awarded the Center-in-Development on Transformative Research in Petrochemicals and Polymers at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals. This award is a part of the Global Research Partnership (GRP) program launched by KAUST as a key initiative to build innovative global alliances to facilitate its development as a globally linked university.

  • The GRP solicited research proposals from over 60 world-class universities and selected seven proposals for the award after a strict and thorough competitive peer review process. KFUPM is the only university in the Middle East, which is selected for the GRP Center-in-Development. The award constitutes a funding of $4.5 million during a period of three years starting September 2008.
